McCurdy Charter School awarded a cash prize to their staff in a Pay for Performance Initiative.
Each staff member received $1,000 for meeting the school requirements. The total cost to the School was just over $55,000 according to McCurdy Director Sarah Tario.
The requirements for the incentive were successful remote learning that met requirements and state standards, and above 80 percent student engagement in remote learning.
âWeâre not allowed to pay a bonus, but you can do a pay for performance where you set those specific goals,â Tario said.
The Charter School Governance Board approved the payments at a Jan. 14 meeting.
McCurdy has been closed since March 16 when the Governor ordered schools closed. Since then, the charter school has saved on utility bills and some staff payments, among other areas.
