Flag Fire: What you need to know about the wildfire burning in Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. - The Flag Fire is burning near the
Wild Cow Campground in Kingman on Sunday and the Bureau of Land Management says the fire is being battled from the ground and air.
Crews believe the 600-acre fire began around 2 p.m. in the Hualapai Mountains.
There s no information regarding the cause of the fire.
EVACUATIONS
As of 4 p.m., GO evacuation orders have been issued by the Mohave County Sheriff s Office for the following communities:

Atherton Acres
The Flag Fire broke out overnight in Kingman, Arizona, prompting officials to issue evacuation orders
The Flag Fire in Arizona has swelled to a dangerous level, prompting officials to issue evacuation orders Monday.
The fire broke out near Kingman on Sunday around 2 p.m. By 5:30 p.m., the fire had spread to cover around 600 acres.

A strong wind throughout the afternoon pushed the fire to the north. The low relative humidity encouraged the fire, though officials hope that a higher humidity on Monday will help to mitigate further spread.

Evacuation orders issued as wildfire continues to grow
In just a few hours, the Flag Fire scorched hundreds of acres in the Hualapai Mountains southeast of Kingman. FOX 10 s Ty Brennan reports.

Crews believe the fire began around 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 25 in the Hualapai Mountains. So far, over 1,000 acres of Ponderosa pine at higher elevations, brush and grass have burned.

KINGMAN, Ariz. The Lake Havasu City Police Department is investigating after a Mohave County Sheriff s deputy shot and killed a suspect after a pursuit on Saturday in Kingman.
It is procedure for outside agencies to investigate officer-involved shootings. Lake Havasu City sent information on the incident, which involved the Mohave County Sheriff s Office.
According to the release from Lake Havasu City, deputies from the Mohave County Sheriff s Office tried to conduct a traffic stop around 9 p.m. in Kingman when the vehicle failed to stop and the driver led deputies on a low-speed chase.
During that pursuit, the driver allegedly began driving erratically into on-coming traffic on North Stockton Road and deputies terminated the pursuit.
A BASE jumper was injured Sunday after his parachute failed while jumping off a cliff near Littlefield in the northwestern part of Arizona, officials said.
A 33-year-old man, who has not been identified, was BASE jumping from a cliff north of Interstate 15 near the Virgin River Gorge on the Arizona Strip, according to the Mohave County Sheriff s Office.
During his second jump off a cliff, the man s BASE jump parachute failed, resulting in a severe injury when he landed, officials said.
Search and rescue from Mohave County and Washington County in Utah and a helicopter from St. George Intermountain Life Flight responded to the incident and found the man in a technically challenging area to access. The Arizona Department of Public Safety also responded to the scene with a helicopter.
