Mumbai: BMC shuts Mithi bridge on Aarey road for repairs

Aarey road for vehicular and pedestrian movement.
The bridge is closed following an audit by the civic body’s bridges department who inspected the bridge and declared it unfit for use. As per a circular issued by BMC, the bridge is closed from both sides for pedestrian and vehicular movement until repair or reconstruction.
The closure of this bridge is likely to bring hardship for commuters and local residents.
However, the civic body has requested commuters and pedestrians to co-operate with the traffic police to ensure there is no traffic congestion till the bridge is closed.
