Kentucky among states with largest increase in overdose deaths, CDC says

LOUISVILLE, Ky. With the COVID-19 shutdowns of 2020, in many cases we are just now learning the true impact on lives.
Some of it was a worrisome expectation. Fatalities and increased use of substance, said Michael Rose, a Louisville therapist at The Morton Center.
On Wednesday, we learned about some of the major spikes in drug overdose deaths across the country–a record 93,000 in the U.S. last year. And Kentucky saw a higher percentage increase than the majority of other states.

Major renovation at West Lafayette Public Library starting in January
This is the first time this library building is getting an update since it was built back in 2003.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The West Lafayette Public Library Board is moving forward with finalizing plans for major reconstruction project. This is the first time this library building is getting an update since it was built back in 2003. This is especially exciting because 2020 marks 100 years of the West Lafayette Public Library in this community.
Leaders at the WLPL said they need more space. Since the start of the pandemic, they said that more and more people are taking advantage of the library resources. Whether it be checking out a book, using the free internet for work, or bringing kids to a safe environment, the pandemic is not slowed people down despite modified hours.
