Tyler Andree will serve 120 days in county jail and register as a sex offender for 20 years
-San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a San Luis Obispo County Superior Court Judge sentenced San Luis Obispo resident Tyler Andree, 25, to serve 120 days in county jail, and to register as a sex offender for 20 years. Andree was also placed on formal supervised probation. It is important to note that in 2020, the California Legislature passed Assembly Bill 1950 that limited the length of felony probation to a term of two years for these offenses.
The plea agreement was approved by the Honorable Judge Michael Duffy at the time of the plea on June 9, 2021. The terms of the agreement ensured that the defendant would be held accountable for his actions without subjecting the two young women to testifying in court and enduring the additional mental anguish of cross-examination by a defense attorney.

Former Morro Bay High School teacher and swim coach Tyler Andree, 25, was sentenced this week for having sex with a 17-year-old student and communicating with a minor with intent to commit a sexual crime.
As part of a plea deal, a San Luis Obispo County Superior Court judge sentenced Andree to 120 days in jail and supervised felony probation. He must also register as a sex offender for 20 years.
Andree was arrested in February 2021 following an investigation by the Morro Bay Police Department. Authorities say a school resource officer received an anonymous about a sexual relationship between a Morro Bay High School student and a swim coach that had occurred the previous school year.

A woman from Tulare County allegedly stole the tip jar from Giovanni’s Fish Market in Morro Bay on Thursday, leading to a trio of arrests on Saturday.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, the woman exited a vehicle at 1001 Front Street and stole the tip jar from the service window at Giovanni’s before running northbound on the Embarcadero to a vehicle that was waiting for her. Giovanni’s shared surveillance footage of the woman, later identified as 21-year-old Brittany Renee Doyle, running off with the tip jar.
