IMAGINE dropping grains of sand into a pile – over time avalanches occur… and we are poised on the brink of change.
The grains of sand represent the human population and these avalanches in time are the premise of “Deep History”, where a female protagonist, of our imagination, travels through time, beginning 75,000 years ago with the volcanic eruption of Mount Toba, Indonesia.
The ashy fallout, which may have caused a volcanic winter and a bottleneck in population, is the first critical event described, where six, key survival “take-aways”, scribbled on butcher’s paper are promised. This first one states the population is around 15,000 and the lesson is “Survival is possible”.

All Too Hard filly was purchased from Gerry Harvey’s farm Baramul Stud and what a beauty she is. Certainly, well put together, very muscular and all in proportion. Such a great type, nicely balanced and easy on the eye. Very intelligent and has a great temperament for such a young horse.
A filly with quality, presence and is a great mover. Big strong filly while having very good length and athleticism. Well boned and above all an early running type. There is a lot to like.
Jeremy Azzopardi (GOT Director) comments: Lovely, neat well balanced filly. We are going to ask her to be a 2YO. She’ll be one that does train on as a 3YO. She’s correct, got a good attitude, nice fluent action on her and inexpensive. Really well bought and I think it would be a great opportunity to get involved.
Australia: Biloela residents maintain three-year fight for Tamil refugee family’s freedom
March 5 was the third anniversary of the arrest and imprisonment of a Tamil refugee family in the central Queensland town of Biloela. It also marked three years of a non-stop fight for their freedom waged by the residents of the town, through their campaign “Home to Bilo.”
To mark the anniversary, vigils were organised in cities and towns across Australia, demonstrating the wide support for the asylum seekers. In Biloela, the vigil was held at 5 a.m., marking the same time, in 2018, that armed guards and local police stormed the home of Nadesalingam (Nades) and Priya, the husband and wife, and their two daughters, Kopika and Tharunicaa.

This is no longer a surprise – some years ago the Sydney Morning Herald reported that public schools did better than private school students in the HSC.
Even in my own experience and as a parent of now four adult children and a grand parent, a life time of interest in education and policy matters, the overwhelming input into a child s education are the parents. This has been borne out by numerous educational responses from Christian schools, Catholic schools and the public sector.
