RED BANK – Four Red Bank Democrats will be involved in a contested primary election on June 8 as they seek their party’s nomination to run for two Borough Council terms in November.
Two Republicans are seeking their party’s nomination to run for the borough’s governing body in the Nov. 2 general election. The GOP primary on June 8 will be uncontested
According to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, the four Democrats who are seeking two nominations in the June 8 primary election are incumbent council members Kate Triggiano and Hazim Yassin, and challengers Bruce Maida and Jacqueline Sturdivant.

The current terms of incumbent councilmen Robert Strovinsky and Michael Drennan will end on Dec. 31.
In response to an inquiry from the Examiner asking if he plans to seek re-election, Strovinsky said, “I do not plan to run again. I enjoyed serving on council, but it is time to move on.”

FREEHOLD – Two Democrats in Freehold Borough are seeking re-election to a pair of three-year terms on the Borough Council.
According to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, incumbent Democrats Annette Jordan and Sharon Shutzer have filed nominating petitions to retain their seats on the governing body. The new terms will run from Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2024.
Jordan has been a member of the Borough Council since 2019. Prior to her retirement, she worked with Gannett Corp. in management.

Residents file to run for seats on Eatontown Borough Council
EATONTOWN – Two Democrats and two Republicans are seeking their first three-year terms on the Eatontown Borough Council. The four candidates are running unopposed in the June 8 primary election.
The terms currently held by Republican Joseph Olsavsky and Democrat Jasmine Story will be on the ballot in the Nov. 2 general election. Neither incumbent council member is seeking re-election and their terms will end on Dec. 31.
Seeking the available terms, according to information provided by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, are Democrats Coleen Burnett and Mariel Hufnagel, and Republicans David Gindi and Everett Lucas.
