BILLINGS â Construction crews will break ground in the fall on 720 multi-family apartment units on Billings West End, according to a Tuesday media release from Billings real estate developer Mike Stock.
The new apartment units will go up on a plot on the 4100 block of Monad Road, west of the planned Rocky Vista University medical school, which is currently under construction.
BILLINGS - Our local Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter (YVAS) will soon have a new feature on Monad Road, showcasing some colorful, furry faces.
The plain brick wall and barbed wire fence outside the shelter wasn t very inviting. But now, a new mural is bringing it to life.
YVAS called upon local artists, in hopes of getting a fresh, new look for their boring, gray wall. After looking through numerous submissions in their contest, Wayne Small, the Boys & Girls Club Ranch art teacher, was chosen to put his painting on a larger canvas.
Small says, with help from his students, he got the wall prepped and ready for some vibrant colors in June and started painting the mural on Tuesday, July 20.

One man died in a fire in a mobile home in Billings Wednesday.
It happened on Goldstrike Drive around 6:30 p.m., according to Billings Police Sgt. Clyde Reid.
Goldstrike Drive is in the Casa Village trailer park near Monad Road and South 24th Street West.
Reid said the fire marshal is investigating.
Firefighters believe no other occupants were at the residence.
Battalion Chief Darrek Mitchell said no on else was injured and no other structures burned.
