Industry heads had sought SOP PUNE: Principal secretary of industries Baldev Singh on Saturday said the government would soon come out with the standard operating procedures for all sectors in view of the likelihood of a third wave of Covid-19. The industry heads sought standard operating procedures (SOPs) to resume activities following all Covid protocols during their interactions with the district collectors. “The SOPs issued will be for all industries to ensure their seamless functioning ahead of the impending threat of the third wave,” Singh said. The collectors would draw up plans for districts concerned after taking inputs from the industry bodies. Singh said the matter was discussed during a video conference with all the collectors on Friday evening. Maharashtra chief secretary Sitaram Kunte PUNE: Chief secretary Sitaram Kunte on Saturday said all collectors had been directed to sit with the industries’ heads and draw up plans to resume work with Covid-appropriate protocols in place amid the threat of a possible third wave so that economic activities could pick up pace. Kunte said representatives of various industries should discuss the matter with their respective District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMA). “The basic outline has been drawn by the state, but the local authorities should incorporate protocols, depending on the local situation,” Kunte told TOI. “Staggered timings for operations or bio-bubbles, which minimise the risk of Covid infection, should be adopted by the industries. This should be the base of the plan.
