The Philadelphia 76ers have been on a different tier than the Boston Celtics all season long and they reminded their divisional rivals of that reality on Tuesday night with a dominant 106-96 victory at the TD Garden.

BOSTON Celtics coach Brad Stevens said he wasn’t quite sure the narrative around their recent two-game skid matched the play on the court. While, yes, Boston had dropped its games to New Orleans and Dallas, Stevens said he thought the on-court product was still enough to win.
The C’s fell victim to some insane shotmaking against the Mavs and Pelicans, Stevens said. It’s not as if they lied down in a loss either, putting together late comebacks that fell short.

BOSTON The script keeps repeating itself for the Celtics. Boston finds itself down big, then a late spurt creeps them just close enough to look dangerous. But the comeback attempt stalls at the last second, and ultimately, it’s just another loss.
It happened again as Boston lost 113-108 to Dallas on Wednesday at TD Garden. The C’s shaved a 23-point deficit all the way down to two, sending the 2,298 fans in attendance to their vocal peak. But there was too little time for a real shot at victory. It was the same tale in defeats against the Grizzlies and Bucks last week, along with the Pelicans loss on Monday.
