A police constable facing departmental action committed suicide by hanging himself allegedly in frustration over the behaviour of senior officers.
Constable Mohsin Javed had been suspended and his salary stopped on charges of remaining absent for four days. On Tuesday, he reportedly took his own life by hanging himself from a tree in Police Lines.
He reportedly belonged to Bahawalpur, around 500 kilometres from Lahore and had also requested his repatriation to his hometown.

MUSCAT: Oman’s Premier League will see two new names on the competition charts of 2021-22 cricket season that is likely to start earlier than anticipated.
Most of former Premier Division champion Assarain players will be part of Yallah Shabab cricket team, supported and sponsored by Chaitanya Khimji, owner of Premier League runners-up Al Turki NMC, which will take part in the new season as Oman Stallions.
The team got its name Yallah Shabab through a Facebook competition and awarded the winner, Mohsin Javed, a cash prize of OMR 100 for proposing the name that the team management chose to adopt.

The Rawalpindi police have arrested a woman and her accomplice for murdering her husband on May 8.
Mohsin Javed was shot dead while he was on a motorcycle with his wife. The woman fainted and was rushed to the hospital. After this, the man’s father registered an FIR against his rivals.
During the investigation, the woman, however, confessed to planning her husband’s murder with a friend. The police claimed that she even pretended to faint during the firing.

An anti-terrorism court rejected on Monday the bail pleas of Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh in two cases pertaining to violence during the by-polls in Malir s PS-88 and the anti-encroachment operation in Memon Goth.
ATC No3 announced the verdict on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader s bail pleas at Karachi Central Jail.
Meanwhile, another PTI leader, Mir Sameer Sheikh, and his driver, Ghulam Mustafa, were granted bail. They were granted bail against the surety of Rs50,000 each.
