A manhunt is underway in Oakland’s Rockridge neighborhood, where police are searching for three armed suspects wanted in connection with a shooting that killed one person in Castro Valley on Tuesday.
Police have isolated the suspects to several blocks near Miles Avenue and Highway 24 and have instituted a shelter-in-place for residents while they search the area, said Sgt. Ray Kelly of the Alameda County sheriff’s office.
Kelly said Wednesday that authorities were following up on leads but had no additional updates to provide.
The manhunt comes after police tracked the suspects from a shooting in Castro Valley that left one person dead Tuesday.

Cleveland, Warrensville Heights consider tax-sharing deal to support Tremco expansion
Tremco Inc., a construction-products manufacturer, is expanding a longtime facility on Cleveland s East Side.
Cleveland and Warrensville Heights are considering a tax-sharing agreement tied to a manufacturing plant expansion that straddles their border.
Legislation introduced Monday, Feb. 22, at Cleveland City Council would create a joint economic development zone spanning 11.7 acres at Miles Avenue and East 175th Street. That s where Tremco Inc., which makes construction products, recently broke ground for a 110,000-square-foot expansion of a facility that produces sealants, adhesives and waterproofing.
Most of that land sits in Cleveland, just east of Tremco s existing, 160,000-square-foot plant. But about 1.8 acres, at the eastern edge of the site, is in Warrensville Heights.
