Billings police investigate report of brutal assault of Northern Cheyenne councilwoman

BILLINGS - The Billings Police Department is investigating the reported assault of a Northern Cheyenne council member in downtown Billings that took place in mid-May.
The attack on Silver Little Eagle, 23 of Lame Deer, happened May 16.
While those with the Billings Police Department wouldnât comment on the specifics of the case, officials did say Monday there is an active and open investigation.
Sgt. Shane Winden said Little Eagle suffered non-life-threatening injuries but was taken to a Billings hospital for treatment.
The assault is gaining traction on social media because of a GoFundMe account that has gathered over $23,000 in donations as of Monday afternoon.

BILLINGS - In a press release, police identified the suspect involved in the hostage situation on the 300 block of Stillwater Lane on Monday. He has been taken into custody and is facing charges.
After receiving a disturbance call at approximately 1:56 a.m. Monday, Billings police responded to the 300 block of Stillwater Lane.
According to a release, one of the victims, a 77-year-old woman, was able to call 911 and said she was being held hostage by Donald Foster, 47. The woman was able to escape and run out of the residence.
When police arrived they learned there was an 18-year-old woman still being held against her will by Foster.
