An inspection of a semi-trailer at the Coutts border crossing on Christmas Day has led to the largest border seizure of methamphetamine in Canadian history and a Calgary man being charged.
Just as many Canadians were opening Christmas presents, a truck hauling produce at the Alberta-Montana border crossing received a further inspection by Canada Border Services Agency officials.

“While examining the shipment, CBSA officers uncovered 228.14 kg of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $28.5 million,” states an agency news release.
