Volunteers needed for roles across the community

VOLUNTEERS are needed to fulfil a variety of roles to enhance the lives of people in the community. Volunteer Centre Dorset is seeking volunteers to enable and enhance the lives of people with learning disabilities in Bridport, people to help at the football club, engaging with those who are socially isolated and more. The group is looking for anyone with an hour or two to spare weekly, fortnightly or even monthly. Activities could include, grass cutting, litter picking or just going for a walk with someone to help rebuild their confidence following the pandemic. Anyone with any spare time to give is asked to get in contact with Volunteer Centre Dorset. Full training will be provided, expenses reimbursed and volunteers will be given regular supervision and support.

Meet the ambassadors welcoming people to Weymouth and Dorset

RESIDENTS are being urged to step forward and volunteer to become a Dorset Ambassador to help welcome and support visitors exploring the county. The Ambassadors have already been busy on the streets of Weymouth and other towns across Dorset, helping residents and welcoming visitors - and more volunteers are being urged to sign up ahead of the main summer season. The Dorset Ambassador programme was launched by Dorset Volunteer Centre as it was anticipated many people will choose to holiday in the UK this year. A new band of Ambassadors are patrolling the streets of Dorset’s seaside and market towns, welcoming visitors and offering advice on services, facilities, and places of interest. They are all volunteers from the local community and are thrilled to share their wealth of local knowledge with everyone they meet.
