Police will soon start outreach programs in high schools to look for students who want to become police officers as part of a strategy to recruit more officers from visible minority communities. “There s been an improvement. King filed a complaint after the first incident, and that process is not completed. It keeps happening, he told the media.
The father of four says that after 5 p.m. April 9, Montreal police followed him for a kilometre as he drove alone in a rented BMW, which he was returning to Enterprise in Côte des Neiges. King says he was pulled over on De la Savane and was told by the two officers they were doing a random spot check.

MONTREAL A woman on Montreal s South Shore is frustrated at the justice system s snail-like pace. Masabatha Kakndijika said she was tackled by a mall security guard who told her Canada was not her country in Longueuil, Quebec in June. She called the attack, which was witnessed by her four children, a racist action. She reported the alleged attack and is frustrated by the length of time it has taken for justice to move forward. “It’s sad you know, I just want to get this whole thing over and done with, said Masabatha. But it seems to be just prolonging itself. It’s like one disappointment after the other.”
