More than 300 people passed through the new Optus Emerald store last weekend in an attempt to take out the ultimate Hot Wheels race.
Children, parents and passers-by all flocked to the new store on May 8 and 9, where a custom four-metre track was created.
Families were invited to participate in the Hot Wheels race, which boasted impressive drops, triple loops and finish lines for the weekend-long challenge.
Optusâ territory general manager for Central and Northern Queensland, Dave Morrissey, said he was thrilled with the huge turnout, giving locals a chance to check out the new store. The ultimate Hot Wheels race at the new Optus Emerald store.

Central Highlands’ social entrepreneurs have shared progress on their innovative initiatives, in CQUniversity’s latest sessions for the Central Highlands Social Enterprise Project.
The project, presented in the partnership with Central Highlands Community Services, has included a series of workshops at the CQ University Emerald campus, and work to map the region’s social innovation ecosystem.
On April 27, CQ University Emerald hosted the vision and showcase sessions for the project, with a range of local participants.

Central Queensland dog lovers sent in close to 100 photos of their furry friends, and after handing it over to the readers to decide, the cutest dog across Central Highlands, Isaac and Barcaldine regions has been named.
The polls were close, with such a large range of cuties to choose from, but Frank with his mum Hayley Smith.
Emeraldâs Hayley Smith, who submitted the winning picture, has had Frank since he was just 14 weeks old.
âHe was given to me in a split-second decision as the original owners couldnât look after him anymore,â she said.
