Police seek suspect in fatal East Hollywood hit-and-run

Video courtesy LAPD Central Traffici Division East Hollywood - Police are asking the public to help identify the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian this weekend. The victim was standing next to parked cars on Melrose Avenue near Edgemont Street on Saturday, May 8 at about 5:30 am when he was hit by a car, according to the LAPD Central Traffic Division. The pedestrian, identified as 32-year-old Si Park, was thrown into a parked vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The suspect s vehicle, which was a black, 2- or 4-door sedan with tinted windows, continued eastbound on Melrose before turning south on Vermont Avenue, according to the LAPD. 

78-year-old man severely injured in East Hollywood hit-and-run

East Hollywood Police are asking the public to help identify the motorist who drove through a red light and struck an elderly pedestrian in a crosswalk Friday morning A 78-year-old Korean man was crossing Lexington Avenue at Vermont Avenue at about 7:35 am when when he was hit by a vehicle travelling westbound on Lexington, according to a statement from the LAPD Central Traffic Division. After the collision, the driver of the vehicle which is believed to be a  possible dark colored Mazda CX-7  fled the scene without.  The victim sustained severe injuries and is in stable condition.

Tow truck driver injured in violent hit-and-run crash in East Hollywood makes video plea to suspect KABC Share: EAST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) A tow truck driver who was critically injured in a hit-and-run collision in East Hollywood last month issued a video plea for the suspect to surrender. Gustavo Ventura was in the process of towing a vehicle on Virgil Avenue, just south of Clinton Street, about 8 p.m. Feb. 6 when a red sedan traveling southbound on Virgil Avenue struck him and launched him into the air, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Ventura landed in the bed of his tow truck. Detectives determined, based on the 18-foot bed of the tow truck and video of the incident, that he traveled about 30 to 35 feet before coming to rest.
