SHELBY - Several teams of students enrolled in the College-NOW engineering Academy put their capstone projects on the road by competing in the Kehoe Grand Prix at the Kehoe Center in Shelby on Friday.
Each team worked on building an electric vehicle, researching and designing the types of vehicles they might want to build including frame, steering, braking, gearing, power and drive options – in an effort to achieve the optimal combination of performance and energy efficiency.
The College-NOW Engineering Academy is a partnership between the Pioneer Career and Technology Center and North Central State College.

After deliberating for about 10 hours over two days, the jury on Tuesday found Chauvin guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter for the killing of George Floyd, who died last year on Memorial Day after Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than nine minutes. It s hard enough to watch someone who s lived a full life pass on, Williams continued. But when you see someone senselessly lose their life, that s much more difficult to deal with, I don t care what you look like.
