MANSFIELD - The Ohio Department of Higher education has awarded North Central State College a total of $1,818,339.50 in Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship Funds.
These funds will provide scholarships for students enrolled in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) coursework beginning with the 2021 school year.
This was the second-largest COF award in the state of Ohio.
At NCSC, students in seven areas of study are eligible to receive grant dollars: Bioscience, Integrated Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Visual Communications Multimedia Technology, IT Networking, and Cybersecurity, Nursing, Licensed Practical Nursing, and Respiratory Care.

Ontario OH - The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has selected the 2021 Scholarship Program award recipients. Scholarships are made possible by the Annual Meeting Sponsorships.
Cierra Gurney, of Richland County, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Malone University. Her passion for improving the quality of life for others resonates through her involvement in the community. Ms. Gurney is the recipient of the $2,000 scholarship award.
Lauren Short, of Richland County, is pursuing a career in the field of social work through North Central State College. She served as an intern at the Area Agency on Aging in 2020 as part of her school practicum. Her goal is to work with older Ohioans and persons with disabilities. Ms. Short is a recipient of a $1,000 scholarship award.
