I am passionate about a lot of things in my life â even if to varying degrees. I am passionate about my wife and kids. So much of my life includes and is enriched by them. I am passionate about my calling. I am blessed to love and seek to lead Godâs people that are Central Baptist Church. I am passionate about my hobbies. I really enjoy hunting, fishing, golf, camping and many other outdoor activities. But all of those passions are underneath, and shaped by, a broader, truly all-consuming passion â my desire to know God and glorify Him.
If, God forbid, my family was taken away from me tomorrow, the greatest passion of my life would remain. If I was no longer the leader of the church I serve, my greatest passion would be unchanged. If I lost the ability to participate in any of the hobbies I love, that couldnât take away the greatest passion of my life.
