Another rainstorm disaster in the Savannah Region has rendered about 700 residents from three communities homeless with several properties worth thousands of cedis destroyed.
The affected communities include, Yapei, Sangkpala and Kusawgu all in the Central Gonja District.
According to Central Gonja District Operation Officer, Alhandu Alhassan, officials from the district office have been on the ground assessing the level of destruction to enable them to reach out to the victims.
“In fact, each of these affected three communities has suffered a great loss of properties because many of their homes have their roofs ripped off and foodstuffs destroyed. But no injuries have been recorded for now.”

Sixteen people died in three separate accidents in three different parts of the country between last Saturday and the dawn of yesterday.
The bloodiest of the accidents, which claimed 13 lives, occurred at Alipe, near Yapei in the Central Gonja municipality in the Savannah, last Tuesday
In the other accidents, two persons died when a Mercedes Benz 207 bus crashed into a faulty Togolese-registered articulated truck parked in the middle of the road at Tesano in Accra at dawn yesterday, while in Cape Coast, a 19-year-old Level 100 Bachelor of Commerce student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Priscilla Owusu Achiaw, was knocked down by a speeding Mercedes Sprinter bus at Ayensudo, near the UCC Satellite campus of the Nduom School of Business and Technology last Saturday. She died four days later from her injuries.

ACCRA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) At least six persons were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Ghana s northern region of Savannah on Sunday, officials confirmed.
Kwasi Baffour-Awuah, Savannah regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, told the media that the accident occurred at Mpaha Junction, a community in the Central Gonja District.
He said a Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus and a Rhino truck traveling in opposite directions collided head-on, killing some of the passengers on the spot.
He said the five injured passengers were receiving treatment at the Holistic Medicare Health Facility at Buipe, a community in the Savannah region. Enditem
