Another accident has yet occurred at Mile 40, near the Fulfulso Junction on the Buipe-Tamale highway in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region, claiming one more life, with two others in critical condition on admission at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).
At Akuse, two passengers a male and female died in an accident involving a Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus at Adelakope, near Akuse Junction, in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region last Monday.
The accident on the Buipe-Tamale highway brings to 28, the number of deaths in road traffic accidents along that highway, with several injuries.
The latest accident on Tuesday morning occurred around 10 a.m., and involved a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GV 785-14 that burst a tyre.
Another crash on the Buipe-Tamale highway has claimed two lives, bringing the lives lost in a similar manner to 26, with about 70 people sustaining injuries in a matter of two weeks.
Seventeen persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred on the Buipe-Tamale highway in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region Wednesday morning.
It happened at Mile 40 (Sarekyekura) near Fulfulso at about 12:12 am.
The deceased include 12 males, five females, one of which was a child.
Sixteen out of the 17 reportedly died on the spot while another died at the Holistic Medicare Hospital at Buipe.
The accident involved two buses with registration numbers GT 3345-16 and AC 1699-20.
They were traveling from Kumasi to Zebila and from Garu to Kumasi respectively when they ran into each other.
The Savannah Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO), Mr Kwasi Baffour-Awuah who confirmed the accident to Graphic Online said the Buipe Fire Station received a distress call at 12.46 am and arrived at the accident scene at 1.20 am.

Kwasi Baffour-Awuah, Savannah regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, told the media that the accident occurred at Mpaha Junction, a community in the Central Gonja District.
He said a Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus and a Rhino truck traveling in opposite directions collided head-on, killing some of the passengers on the spot.

A 13-year-old boy was burnt to death Friday morning when an electronic shop he was sleeping in caught fire.
The incident happened at Buipe, the capital of the Central Gonja District in the Savannah Region.
The deceased has been identified as Ibrahim Musah, by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at Buipe.
The Savannah Regional Fire Commander, Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO), Mr Kwasi Baffour Awuah who confirmed the incident to Graphic Online said the fire incident occurred at about 4 am this dawn.
He said the structure in which the boy was sleeping when it caught the fire was located near the Buipe bridge over the Black Volta.
