The Northern Lakes League invited four schools, Clay, Fremont Ross, Whitmer, and Findlay, to join the league. The vote by the NLL’s principals was unanimous. Oregon City Schools Superintendent Hal Gregory says he plans to present a resolution to the board at its next regular meeting on April 20. If the school boards from those four districts vote to leave the Three Rivers Athletic Conference and join the NLL, the NLL will have 11 teams effective the 2023-24 season. “We look forward to hearing back from these schools in the coming days to formally accept this invitation,” stated an NLL press release. “We anticipate that these new members will join our league beginning with the 2023-24 season.

Football in March? It’s only the latest pandemic oddity.
The seasonal shift did not seem to have upset Central Catholic as the Rams are 5-1 and looked every bit the defending state champion from 2019. The abbreviated six-game season ended April 11.

The fans and bands may have been missing but Central Catholic was not, as junior quarterback Luke Johnson completed 21 of 35 throws, racking up 275 yards and four touchdowns.
