Third Person Arrested in Connection to Tuskegee Shooting that Left 4-Year-Old Dead Updated: Davion Tarver/Source: Family Tuskegee police say they have arrested a third suspect in connection to a shooting that left a four-year-old boy dead. The suspect, 18-year-old Tremont Jerido, Jr., was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Task Force Thursday. Jerido, Jr., was located in the 1900 block of Lee Road 197 in Phenix City. The shooting happened on February 13 in the 500 block of Pleasant Springs Drive. Police say 4-year-old Davion Tarver was shot in an apparent drive-by shooting. Tarver was eventually taken to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham where he later died.

Alabama News Updated: David Lamont Boyd/Source: Montgomery County Detention Facility Montgomery police say they have arrested and charged a man in connection to a homicide that happened earlier this week on Oakleigh Road. MPD Spokesperson Lt. Jarrett Williams said 35-year-old David Lamont Boyd of Montgomery has been arrested and charged in the death of 29-year-old George Wheeler. Lt. Williams said officers responded to the 5900 block of Oakleigh Road just before 2:00PM on Wednesday. Once they arrived on the scene, the victim, later identified as Wheeler, was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Wheeler was pronounced dead on the scene.

They arrived to find Wheeler unresponsive and pronounced him dead on the scene. The circumstances surrounding Wheeler’s death remain under investigation. No arrests have been announced.
