The Elizabeth Tower conservation project is due to be completed next year, when the world-famous chimes of Big Ben will once again be heard.
Yorkshire was once again chosen as the best part of the world to source stone for the project.
In 2017, stone was hewn from the Cadeby Quarry in Doncaster – a limestone famed for its durability and hardiness.
And companies from the region have been involved in the bid to restore the Elizabeth Tower and the famous clock, which are undergoing the most extensive works for more than 32 years.

Georgetown’s Board of Selectmen and School Committee will each be keeping an incumbent and adding a new face.
Selectman Doug Dawes won reelection to the Board of Selectmen with 492 votes in Tuesday’s local election. In second place with 395 votes, and winning a seat on that board, is Amy Smith. Thank you to the citizens of Georgetown for trusting me to be their voice on the Board of Selectmen. 492 votes, Dawes posted on his campaign Facebook page Tuesday night. KPMG UK puts a woman back in charge of its audit division

Catherine Burnet has been made KPMG UK’s new head of audit, taking over from Jon Holt, who recently became chief executive at the Big Four firm.
Burnet’s career with KPMG spans more than 25 years and has seen her as regional chair for Scotland, Edinburgh office senior partner and a lead partner on a number of company firm audits.
KPMG’s previous female head of audit was Michelle Hinchliffe, who held the position between 2017 and 2019. She then became UK chair of audit, a position she still holds today.
