PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Rhode Island School of Design’s Board of Trustees has appointed Dave Proulx to serve as interim president, the college announced Wednesday.
Current president Rosanne Somerson will retire at the end of June.
Proulx currently serves as RISD’s senior vice president of finance and administration.
Prior to his position at RISD, Proulx held administrative roles at Franklin & Marshall College and the University of New Hampshire.
“During the pandemic, Dave helped us persevere through the greatest financial and operational challenge in our history,” said RISD Board of Trustees Chair Michael Spalter. “As our interim president, he will focus on a successful opening of the campus in fall 2021 and continued progress on RISD’s strategic plan.”
