Roads Are Worse, But Warming Trend This Weekend Feb 18, 2021 at 08:44 am by WGNS
(RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN) Additional snow accumulations of 3-6 inches along with more ice overnight Wednesday and Thursday morning worsened the condition of roadways.
Side roads are treacherous and the main thoroughfares offer numerous challenges to motorists.
The northern end of Rutherford County seems to have been hit harder.
Smyrna Police said that exit ramps onto I-24 were icy and several motorists slid off the roadway and wreckers had to pull them back onto the road from adjacent fields (see photo at top).
Rutherford County Sheriffs Sgt. Michael Rodgers was on WGNS and encouraged residents to try and stay off the roads if at all possible.
