In a demonstration of its continued confidence in a robust future, Advertising Council Australia (ACA) today announced key changes to the make-up of its board, boosting the number of directors and for the first time electing two deputy chairs.
Current board members Laura Aldington (CEO Host/Havas) and Michael Rebelo (CEO Publicis Groupe Australia and New Zealand), were elected as the two new deputy chairs at ACA’s Board meeting and AGM on 13 May, while three new directors were also appointed: Justin Graham (CEO M&C Saatchi Group), Steve McArdle (CEO BMF Advertising) and Kimberlee Wells (CEO TBWA Melbourne and Adelaide).

The Advertising Council Australia (ACA) has added new directors and also elected two deputy chairs for the first time in its history.
Host/Havas CEO Laura Aldington and Publicis Group ANZ CEO Michael Rebelo, who were current board members, were elected as joint deputy chairs, with the election taking place at the ACA’s board meeting and AGM on 13 May.
The ACA has also appointed three new directors, M&C Saatchi Group CEO, Justin Graham, BMF Advertising CEO Steve McArdle and TBWA Melbourne/Adelaide CEO Kimberlee Wells.
Meanwhile, TBWA CEO Paul Bradbury has stepped down from his role as a member of the board after five years.

Colorado considers new consumer privacy law
Colorado has become the latest US state to propose revamping its consumer privacy laws. State senators presented a new bill to Colorado lawmakers last month which will extend further protections to internet users’ personal data.
Officially named SB 21-190 and dubbed “an Act Concerning additional protection of data relating to personal privacy”, the bill follows California’s Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Virginia’s Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA).
