The Collegian will always hold a special place in my heart | Senior Column

I remember coming to Penn State football games with my family when I was little and always looking at a copy of The Daily Collegian. The Collegian was probably one of my first introductions to journalism as a kid, and I always remember being astonished to find out the newspaper was run entirely by students. As soon as I decided I wanted to go into journalism, I knew I wanted to work for my college’s newspaper because of these vague childhood memories I had of looking at a newspaper I knew was made entirely by students. Police identify body found in Fountain Creek, say death is suspicious

A man whose body was found in Fountain Creek last Sunday has been identified, according to a Friday news release from the Fountain Police Department. Upon completion of an autopsy Monday, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased male as 30-year-old Justin Whitaker of Security-Widefield. On April 18 at about 2:30 p.m., a passerby found an adult male body in Fountain Creek, just north of Duckwood Park, officials said. Initial examinations by police and the coroner’s office found no obvious signs of trauma. Police said they will continue to investigate Whitaker’s death, which they regard as “suspicious.”

'To the moon' or to a lawyer, GameStop investors cope with stock's rollercoaster

To the moon or to a lawyer, GameStop investors cope with stock s rollercoaster Reuters 2/5/2021 NEW YORK, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Eric Diaz, an operations manager in Tampa, Florida, remains committed to his GameStop shares even after their steep retreat from highs they hit last week. It got personal, he said. Like many other people, Diaz first invested $3,000 after reading about the video game retailer s stock on the popular Reddit forum WallStreetBets. The so-called Reddit rally to squeeze shortsellers rocketed GameStop Corp shares from below $18 a share in early January to as high as $483 last week. Diaz sold some to take profits of $1,500 and hold on to the rest, 10 shares.
