Michael Devoe scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field and Georgia Tech men’s basketball closed the regular season with its sixth-straight win, a 75-63 triumph over Wake Forest at Joel Coliseum on Friday night.
With the win, Georgia Tech (15-8, 11-6 ACC) clinched no worse than a fifth-place finish in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings for the second-straight year. If No. 21 Virginia defeats Louisville on Saturday, Tech will finish fourth in the ACC and earn a double-bye to the quarterfinals of next week’s ACC Tournament. If they are the No. 5 seed, the Yellow Jackets will open postseason play on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of Tuesday’s matchup between the tournament’s No. 12 and 13 seeds. If Tech earns the No. 4 seed, it will not play until Thursday at 2:30 p.m. versus the winner of Wednesday’s 2:30 p.m. game.

Duane Washington Jr. scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half and No. 9 Ohio State booked a spot in the Big Ten tournament title game by escaping with a 68-67 semifinal victory over No. 4 Michigan on Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis.
E.J. Liddell tallied 13 of his 18 points in the second half to help the fifth-seeded Buckeyes (21-8) reach the Big Ten title game for the first time since 2013. Ohio State faces second-seeded Illinois (ranked No. 3) in Sunday’s title game.
Hunter Dickinson recorded 21 points and eight rebounds and Eli Brooks added 12 points for the top-seeded Wolverines (20-4), who made a late surge that fell short when Mike Smith’s 3-pointer caromed off the rim with under two seconds remaining. Smith scored 10 points but was just 1-of-11 shooting.

For the first time in 27 years, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are ACC tournament champions after their 80-75 win over the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday night.
Georgia Tech secured a spot in Saturday s game after Virginia had to withdraw from the tournament because of a positive COVID-19 test within the program. This marked the Yellow Jackets first appearance in the ACC title game since 2010.
Florida State advanced to the title game by holding off North Carolina in the semifinal. Head coach Leonard Hamilton s squad finished the regular season with a 16-6 overall record and will likely secure an at-large berth in the NCAA tournament.
