Del. Michael San Nicolas and four leadership members of the Congressional Asia Pacific American Caucus met with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss relief, recovery and the Biden administration s goal of building back America better.
San Nicolas expressed gratitude for the inclusion of Guam and the territories in relief and recovery efforts, but pointed out the lack of Supplemental Social Security Income on Guam, according to a news release from his office.
The federal program affords a monthly stipend for cost of living and caregiving expenses to people with disabilities.
According to San Nicolas, the vice president took note of the issue and shared that the American Jobs plan would add to the SSI program by providing an additional $400 billion to expand home and elder care support for people with disabilities.
