PRINCETON The decision to sign an agreement to participate in a wind or solar farm requires careful consideration. Both the benefits and the impacts of the wind or solar farm could last for decades and the agreements are very complicated.

DAVENPORT, Iowa City leaders, law enforcement personnel, and members of local civil rights groups have come together on the Iowa side of the Quad Cities to create the
Iowa Quad Cities Law Enforcement Community Partnership.
It s a group that blossomed out of a conversation in the summer of 2020, after the death of George Floyd. Their meetings have been held twice monthly, discussing community and policing issues and how they could partner for the benefit of the Quad Cities region. These members include people from the City of Davenport, City of Bettendorf, Scott County Sheriff s Department, Davenport National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and Davenport League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). DAVENPORT, Iowa The Davenport NAACP plans to introduce new policing initiatives in the coming weeks as communities large and small react to the guilty verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial. We will soon have a news conference to alert the public on how we are working on policies, training, accountability, funding, recruitment, and hiring practices, said Michael Guster, president of the Davenport NAACP on News 8 THIS WEEK with Jim Mertens .
Gauvin said the initiative will also encourage more youth programs and community outreach.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Quad-City Times ) Parents and the public would receive monthly reports on police officers’ activity within Davenport public schools, and students and faculty would be asked to evaluate their level of comfort and safety in school buildings with officers present under a new, proposed agreement.
Davenport aldermen and Davenport Community School Board members met Monday with local representatives of the NAACP and League of United Latin American Citizens for a joint work session to discuss a proposed memorandum of understanding to continue to station school resource officers or SROs within Davenport schools.
