HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - Henrico School Board chair has resigned after she shared a controversial, now-deleted, social media post in March in connection to the decision by Dr. Seuss Enterprises to stop publishing several books.
Michelle “Micky” Ogburn resigned as Chair of the School Board effective at noon on Thursday.
Administrators said Marcie Shea will serve as the acting chair until a new one can be elected during the board meeting on April 22.

After several delays, the Henrico school board has officially decided when students can begin returning to school buildings.
Under the new timeline, students in pre-K through elementary school can return to the classroom before all teachers who want the COVID-19 vaccine receive their second dose, while most middle and high school students will return after staff are fully vaccinated.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - The Henrico County School Board has voted on a plan that will allow students to return to in-person learning.
The board voted 4-1 in favor of students returning to the classroom; Brookland District board member Kristi Kinsella voted no.
“I understand the toll this pandemic has had on all our lives and we are yearning for a sense of normalcy,” said Fairfield District board member Rev. Roscoe Cooper.
