ALMATY. KAZINFORM – Deputy Kazakh Foreign Minister Akan Rakhmetullin visited the international organizations building and met with Michaela Friberg-Storey, UN Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan as well as the heads of UN regional and country agencies accredited in Kazakhstan as part of his visit to Almaty city on May 31, Kazinform cites the website of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. The official number of death cases from Covid-19 is over 2,600, however, the real number may be times larger. As a consequence of the restrictions, Kazakhstan’s economy shrank 2.7%. Nearly 300,000 businesses had to shut down. 1.6 million people reported a loss of income. Registered domestic violence cases almost doubled. 4 million children’s education has been affected by the lockdown measures.
