MUSKEGON, MI – After more than a decade, the Muskegon Area District Library (MADL) is bringing back a library on wheels.
The Muskegon County library system had a bookmobile for nearly 70 years that was “true and dear to the hearts of the people in Muskegon County,” said MADL Director Kelly Richards. However, budgetary issues led to the mobile library being decommissioned in 2009.
It was a “big loss to the community,” Richards said.
When voters approved a library millage increase in 2016, the extra funding enabled MADL to bring back a brand new bookmobile.
