In March 2020, the program came to a screeching halt after the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Roseburg driver education coordinator Mike Pardon said it took a year to get the program up and running again due to liability and insurance issues with the district.
“There are (safety and sanitation) guidelines out there for driver s ed,” he said. “Since there are guidelines, we learned our liability and insurance would be OK with us starting back up.”
Roseburg Public Schools invests in new technology to help with hybrid learning
Superintendent Jared Cordon said they purchased the equipment to help teachers teach virtually, while they’re teaching in the classroom.

ROSEBURG, Ore. The first week of hybrid learning wrapped up Friday at the high and middle schools in Roseburg Public Schools.
Superintendent Jared Cordon said the first week was a learning experience for everyone, as they navigated through Covid protocols, schedule changes and new technology.
“The whole goal has been to improve and accelerate learning opportunities for our kids,” he said. “I think that’s happened this week.”
