LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - You might be able to purchase alcohol at Oklahoma liquor store drive-thrus soon.
House Bill 2868 allows retail spirit licensees to sell alcoholic beverages in their original, sealed containers via drive-thru.
Cache Road Liquor store owner Mike O’Malley said in the era of COVID, it would be great to provide customers with more options.
“We’ve done a lot more delivery and a lot more curbside, obviously, because it was legal and some people still they just don’t want to even with masks and now vaccines,” he said, “they just don’t feel comfortable coming into a place, so anything we can do to make our customers feel comfortable is something that we support.”
District 6: Mike O Malley
Asked why the organization skipped District 4, the HBA said via email, After interviewing both candidates, reviewing their responses to our questionnaire, and considering the incumbentâs decisions on the council, we believe that their positions are not consistent with the HBAâs stances on several key issues impacting our industry. We believe that this election will shape the City of Colorado Springs for years to come and impact the hundreds of small businesses and thousands of employees that make up our membership, Kyle Campbell, chair of the CSHBA Political Action Committee (PAC), said in a release. With our industry s focus on building attainable housing to meet our City s needs, we believe it s critical to have City Council members who understand what it takes to effectively work with our members and keep our City moving forward, he said.
The ordinance change reduces the 7.5-acre parkland requirement to 5.5 acres for new residential developments. Helen Robinson
With so many people making use of city parkland over the past year to escape the doldrums of the pandemic, it comes as no surprise that some members of Colorado Springs City Council are taking heat this month after approving an ordinance that allows developers to dedicate less land for it in the future.Â
Since the 1970s, developers in Colorado Springs have been required to dedicate 7.5 acres of parkland per 1,000 residents for new residential developments, but City Council voted 5-4 at a regular meeting Feb. 9 to cut that down to 5.5 acres, while almost doubling the fees developers must pay per acre if they cannot meet that requirement. The parks department then must use that money to add or enhance parkland in the same area.
So much for quality of life
On Feb. 10 there was an article on the front page of The Gazette entitled “City Council reduces parkland requirement for developers.” The council voted 5 to 4 to decrease parkland requirements from 7.5 acres to 5.5 acres per 1000 residents. The vote was not supposed to happen for another two weeks and Richard Skorman had requested a delay for six months since the parks planning process is going to determine funding in the upcoming months. But five members of our city council voted to give developers another break.
Colorado Springs has the least amount of parkland per 1,000 residents of any of the front range cities. I wonder if any of those council members actually visit our parks. Do they realize how overused our parks are in this city? And the council certainly does not relish funding our parks. So now they vote to place more housing with more people with less access to a neighborhood park.

Arrow star has become involved with various promotions for major angles over the years. And, so it should come as no surprise that he will soon be headlining the Starz wrestling drama,
