APSU names college s 11th president | WHOP 1230 AM

Dr. Licari Austin Peay State University’s Board of Regents named Dr. Michael Licari the college’s 11th president Monday. He currently serves as provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Indiana State University, where he oversees all academic functions of that university, as well as enrollment management and university marketing. Dr. Licari earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a focus on public administration in 1997, a Master of Arts in Political Science, also from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, in 1994, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Minnesota in 1993.

(APSU) On December 4th, the APSU presidential search committee announced the three finalists for the University presidency – Dr. Michael Licari, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Indiana State University; Dr. Jaime Taylor, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at Marshall University; and Dannelle Whiteside, interim president of Austin Peay State University who previously served as the University’s vice president for legal affairs.The three candidates visited campus last week for a wide range of interviews with students, faculty, staff, University leadership and members of the Austin Peay State University community.

Licari named new APSU president – The All State

Licari replaces Dr. Alisa White, who announced her departure from Austin Peay in August. In a four month search process, the board narrowed White’s replacement down to three candidates: Danelle Whiteside who most recently served in an interim role as president at APSU, Dr. Jaime Taylor and Licari. Whiteside was the university’s first Black president. “I am confident that the APSU Board of Trustees has chosen an outstanding 11th president in Dr. Michael Licari,” chair of the search committee Mike O’Malley said in a statement. “He is an experienced and proven leader who will help guide the institution with distinction and a spirit of innovation in the years to come.
