Pius X enters the early stages of preparing for vaccinations

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) With the first round of COVID–19 vaccinations rolling out Monday, excitement is high and the question of what comes next is on everyone’s mind, including those in the education system.
While things are still in the very early stages of moving to the 1B group, which includes teachers, Pius X is working with the health department to figure out the details.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – With cold Midwest temperatures and snow still on the ground, eating outside is on pretty much no ones to–do list. That’s why Granite City is offering a new feature that might make that a little more desirable.
“We’ve gotten so many calls the first day, it was just mind boggling. I was putting them up with my general manager and our host came out and said this is going to be big, this is going to be a big deal,” Jason Ries with Granite City said.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Officials with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) report five more COVID deaths for the county, bringing the community total to 126.
The deaths included a man in his 80s, a man and woman in their 70s, and a man in his 60s who were all hospitalized, and a woman in her 60s who was in a long-term care facility
Additionally, 190 COVID-19 cases were reported, pushing the community total to 20,314.

Nebraska Electors cast vote while Precious McKesson makes history
Nebraska s Electoral votes were split in the 2020 Presidential Election, 4-1 in favor of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) A monumental moment at the Capitol as Nebraska Electors took the voice of the people and turned it into electoral college votes on Monday.
Within thirty minutes, four electoral votes went to President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike pence, while one vote from District 2 went to President Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris.
Most of the eyes in the room were on Precious McKesson, who was the first black female electoral voter in Nebraska’s history. She represents District 2 and said moments like Monday mean a lot not just for African American women but women in general.
