Lead performers May and Raleigh, played by Lee students Macy Patton and Justin Gadson, enjoying the Nibroc Festival
The Lee University Theatre program, led by Dr. Christine Williams, will present its spring performance, “The Last Train to Nibroc,” on Feb. 19-20 and 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. via live stream.
“The Last Train to Nibroc” is set in 1940 where May, an aspiring missionary, and Raleigh, medically discharged and heading to New York to be a writer, share a seat on a train where they realize they come from neighboring Appalachian towns. Raleigh decides to change trains for Kentucky in hopes of taking May to the Nibroc Festival. The two cross paths years later looking for happiness and love.
