Gold miner Iamgold (TSX: IMG; NYSE: IAG) has released assay results for 11 drillholes completed at the Astoria area within the Rouyn gold project that is under option from Yorbeau Resources (TSX: YRB) and is located 45 km from the company’s Westwood mine. The latest results include assays from three zones within the Astoria area that includes a gold deposit; this drill program tested targets around known mineralization. Intercepts from the Upper Piche zone include 2 metres of 13.2 g/t gold from 666.5 metres; and 7.6 metres of 9.7 g/t gold starting at 638 metres. Results from the Lower Piche zone include 11.1 metres of 3.7 g/t gold from 545.9 metres. Drilling at the Main Astoria zone returned a 14-metre interval of 3.4 g/t gold starting at 666 metres.
