CAROGA Members of the town’s Golf Course Steering Committee is continuing to work on setting up temporary clubhouse for the Nick Stoner Municipal Golf Course and continue to work with an architect to replace the former clubhouse that was destroyed in a fire in November.
Caroga’s town Golf Course Steering Committee held a meeting on Wednesday, in which they are continuing to negotiate with the insurance company.
“There’s been some discussion with the insurance company about whether one building was destroyed in the fire, or two buildings. The town’s position is that two buildings were destroyed in the fire,” said Supervisor Scott Horton. “The difference is that if you have two buildings and in the policy there are additional remunerations that you can ask for from one building [then] you can ask for the same remunerations from the second building. THREE MILE BAY â When the stop sign at the end of Klock Road disappeared a few weeks ago, Gary R. Stinson, who lives on the road, hoped the town of Lyme Highway Department might replace it.
But now, after weeks of no progress, Mr. Stinson, a former Rodman town supervisor, is taking matters into his own hands.
âIâve been prepared,â Mr. Stinson said Tuesday. âIâve got my sign and my sign pole, and Iâm going to try to go out tomorrow and set up a stop sign.â
An unexpected snowstorm delayed him slightly, but on Friday â an unusually warm day â Mr. Stinson installed a brand new, 13-foot, reflective stop sign at the intersection of Klock Road and Route 12E.
