Police: Teen steals car with 2-year-old inside from West Hartford business

West Hartford Police are investigating after they say a teen stole a car Tuesday afternoon with a two-year-old child inside. The child was unharmed.  At 2:30 pm, police received a 911 call from a car owner who said their car had been stolen from Premium Auto located at 932 New Britain Avenue with a two-year-old child still inside.  The caller told police the car was traveling west on New Britain Avenue.  Police said they located the vehicle a short time later going north on South Main Street. Stop sticks were used to slow the vehicle down. The car crashed into another vehicle, which then hit at third at the corner of South Main Street and Sedgwick Road.  The suspect fled from the stolen car and after a short foot chase, was taken into custody by West Hartford Officers.  The third vehicle struck by the sus

The incident didn’t have any injuries reported, according to a release from Sgt. Sara Nagle, assistant public information office for the West Hartford Police Department. “The vehicle had veered off the road and drove onto guide wires of an Eversource pole,” Nagle wrote in the release. “The vehicle, which had all four tires off the ground, was resting on its rear bumper and the guide wires.”

West Hartford police issue Silver Alert for missing 13-yr-old

Updated: 1:04 PM EDT May 23, 2021 WEST HARTFORD, Conn. West Hartford police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing 13-yr-old.  Police said Serenity Torres, 30, was last seen Sunday morning.  She is 5 5 and weighs 115 lbs.  She was last scene wearing blue shorts, tan shirt, and a pink vest.  Police were unable to supply a picture.  If you have information on her whereabouts, contact West Hartford Police at 860-523-5203.
