Anthony Rowland earned the win, allowing just one hit in five innings, striking out six and walking three.  Rowland also went 2-for-3 on offense with a three-run triple in the first inning. Michael Krejocic went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and a home run. Both teams return to the diamond on Friday. Homer-Center will go against Marion Center, while Blairsville takes on Penns Manor.   SALTSBURG – 10, UNITED – 9 United rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh, but Saltsburg held off the Lions and won, 10-9, on Thursday. Angelo Bartolini hit a grand slam in the fourth to give the Trojans their first lead of the game, and Saltsburg scoredd four more in the bottom of the sixth to notch double digits.

UNITED, WEST SHAMOKIN VICTORIOUS IN DISTRICT QUARTERFINAL PLAY

Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Mar 3, 2021 9:06 PM BOYS 2A The West Shamokin Wolves continued their dominant season as a formidable three-point effort helped them beat the Homer-Center Wildcats, 59-30, in their District 6 quarterfinal match-up Wednesday evening. Ezick Olinger led the scoring column with 12 points and he was helped by Eric Spencer and Justin Smulik, who had 11 points each. Here’s Todd Marino’s recap:   The Wolves will face Heritage Conference rival Penns Manor, a 74-66 overtime winner over Southern Huntington last night, at West Shamokin this Saturday. In other District 6 boys’ 2A action, the United Lions posted a season-high 12 three-point field goals to defeat West Branch, 71-53.
