LOGAN â Crews in Logan spent a portion of the day Friday repairing another large water line break in town.
The break happened on Stratton Street in front of Hot Cup and the Just-Us Consignment and Furniture Store, the latter of which reported a flooded basement. Vendors were set up on the street for the third day of the West Virginia Freedom Festival.
The cityâs water and sewage departments worked down to the wire to repair the water line before the festival opened for the day, finishing up at about 5:30 p.m. The city fire department also helped by hosing down the area to clear the mud near the vendors.

LOGAN â While the City of Loganâs Easter gathering was delayed by a week, it still attracted an energetic crowd to the former Sayer Building lot downtown on Wednesday, April 7.
More than 30 churches, community organizations and businesses participated, providing eggs, candy and activities for more than 100 children.
Brayden Belcher â currently the mascot for Mingo Central High School â played the role of Easter Bunny.
Logan City Clerk Amber Miller-Belcher said the city wanted to do something âto bring the community together.â
âWe had a tough year in 2020, so we just wanted to have something where parents could come out with their kids and have a good time,â Miller-Belcher said. âOverall, we had a good turnout.â
