Dallas police responded to a shooting call about 10:40 p.m. Sunday in the 4300 block of Duncanville Road, near West Ledbetter Drive, in the Mountain Creek area. Witnesses told police that street racers had shut down an intersection when an unknown suspect began firing a handgun. It’s unclear how many shots were fired. Lynetta Washington, 54, was fatally struck by gunfire as she was walking down the street, police said. She died at the scene, police said.

Officers found the victim, identified as Edward Cade, in a car unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.
