Burnham-On-Sea teenager takes on 10-mile walking challenge to help hospice A Burnham-On-Sea teenager hopes to raise raised hundreds of pounds for a local hospice by completing a 10-walking challenge. Freddie Triggol, 13, who attends King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, has been a keen walker throughout the lockdowns of the past year, enjoying walks with his dad. Burnham-On-Sea MP praises Covid vaccination centre volunteers during Berrow visit Burnham-On-Sea’s MP James Heappey has thanked the dedicated team of volunteers at Berrow’s medical centre and others across the Wells constituency for their work in ensuring Covid vaccinations have been a success. The MP met volunteers and clinicians at Berrow’s Mulberry Centre on Friday, where he praised all those involved in the ongoing vaccination effort. He said: “I’ve come to the Mulberry Centre where the North Sedgemoor GP Federation have been running vaccinations for the last three or four months. They’ve vaccinated well over 20,000 people, and are now getting towards the end of their second doses. It has been the most phenomenal effort but it’s a story that’s repeated at the West Mendip hospital where the West Mendip GPs Federation have been doing the same and of course at the Bath and West where people from across the region have been going to get their jabs.”

Berrow Medical Centre to start first local Coronavirus vaccinations today

Berrow Medical Centre gets first local Coronavirus vaccinations underway The Mulberry Centre at Berrow Medical Centre is the first local site to start vaccinating some of the area’s most vulnerable residents for Coronavirus from this week. People who have been identified by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) as the highest priority will be invited first, including over-80s and health and care staff. This first wave of community GP-led sites follows the launch of the NHS vaccination programme in hospital hubs, such as Yeovil District Hospital, and is part of a range of ways that people will access vaccination services across Somerset.
