Himalayan bird: Himalayan bird sighted for the first time in Gujarat | Vadodara News

Lemon-Rumped Warbler was photographed at Pirana in Ahmedabad VADODARA: It was in 2011 that this little bird was spotted in a village on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. But it took the bird-watchers nearly nine years to realise that the Himalayan bird was seen and photographed for the first time in the state. Lemon-Rumped Warbler, that is usually seen in the foothills of Himalayas, is now set to be among the list of birds spotted in Gujarat. “This tiny bird is a resident of Himalayas and also found in Arunachal Pradesh as well as northern Pakistan. They always prefer the hilly region. It is surprising that the Lemon-Rumped Warbler flew all the way to Gujarat, which is a plain region. It was for the first time that the bird was spotted here,” said Devvratsinh Mori, an ornithologist from Surendranagar.
