Local health systems in West Michigan said that they are ready to meet the deadline and the demand.
âWe get very excited about it, because what that means is that the vaccine supply is coming,â said Chad Tuttle, the Sr. Vice President of Hospital Operations with Spectrum Health.
Tuttle told FOX 17 that the vaccine supply will need to increase 500% to meet that April 5
th goal.
He said, âThis week we did 25,000 doses, so when we talk about an increase like that, what we are talking about is doing somewhere between 125,000 and 150,000 doses per week.â
Tuttle knows itâs a big task, but thinks theyâll be able to pull it off.

ALLENDALE, Mich. â Grand Valley State University released a statement to staff and students Thursday after a reported mix-up regarding vaccine appointments.
The school sent an email (pictured) stating that COVID-19 vaccines were available as a result of appointment cancellations; however, the email did not address eligibility requirements. In turn, students who should not have received the vaccine were able to get their first dose. Others were already waiting at the entrance when they were pulled from the line, while many more learned their appointments would be canceled.
